A lengthy engagement assisted our client with extensive scoping of a complete replacement Station Management System (SMS) for a large number of substations.  The new SMS is fully Ethernet and IEC61850 based, and handles all substation RTU and control functions, plus provides automated data retrieval of event records and allows authenticated users to have remote on-line access to protection devices.

Tesla’s scope included specification preparation, tender evaluation, procurement, technical support, design of pilot station implementation and preparation of standard designs for rollout.  Tesla then designed the first 10 station rollouts and continues to provide on-going project technical support.
