110 kV & 220 kV Line Protection Upgrades
Detailed design for the installation of large numbers of digital distance (impedance) relays in addition to electronic impedance relays on major 110 kV and 220 kV transmission circuits throughout New Zealand. These have included interfacing to bus zone and circuit breaker fail protections. Work has included determination of co-ordinated protection settings and SCADA configuration.
Tesla typically provide circuit design, panel designs, associated ancillary (ac, dc, SCADA, RTU, protection signalling communications, secondary cabling etc) services design and setting calculations required for the replacement of the existing line protection schemes. A combination of impedance protection in POR or blocking mode and line differential protection are typically involved.
