Preparation of a technical guide to assist engineers when reviewing generator protection at the grid-interface. Prepared from the grid-owners perspective, it includes a checklist of items, for which the generators’ protection application demonstrates that due-diligence has been performed.
The guide is primarily a technical document that:
- Provides a checklist of requirements the generators’ protection application must have included/considered and demonstrated due diligence thereof, on a per-protection element basis (i.e. passing the learned lessons onto the Company as part of their review capacity).
- Outline the objectives backup protection must meet based on the local transmission protection architecture, plus provide an explanation of ‘how’ to do the necessary grid studies, (i.e. such as the effects of varying in-feed removal etc).
