33 kV Cable Replacement
Proposed cable route plans, soil thermal resistivity test results, load growth estimation and worst case fault current data were analysed to specify the length and type of power cable required. Design the installation (including road crossings) and prepare budgets for the supply and installation of a new 33 kV cable linking two 33 / 11 kV substations in an interconnected 33 kV network within city boundary. Several combinations of cable type and installation methods (including installation of thermal backfill) were compared to evaluate the best overall option for cost and reliability, and liaison with other utilities was undertaken to ensure to conflicts with other services resulted.
