Integration of New 33 kV Point Of Supply
Project costing, detailed design and tender documents were completed for the installation of a 33 kV ripple injection plant and 750 kVA local service transformer at a new 220 / 33 kV point of supply (grid exit point), and for the integration of five new 33 kV power circuits from the new point of supply into several 33 kV substations. Design services included a network protection overview, protection signalling analysis (the direct and available indirect radio paths for each protection service were analysed for path profile and the link signal attenuation calculated), fault level analysis, detailed design of modifications to several 33 kV substations for new circuit breakers and/or control and protection, computer analysis of the new network to establish the optimum commissioning sequence and operating constraints, and the calculation of protection settings for the protection relays throughout the 33 kV interconnected network.
