2019 Wine Tour
Waiheke was the destination for our fourth wine trip for staff wanting to participate in an organized tour of a wine region. These trips are organized every two years.
Those attending meet in Auckland on Saturday afternoon, taking the ferry from downtown Auckland to Matiatia, Waiheke. We were welcomed by our guides and taken to three vineyards, Obsidian, Stony Ridge and Batch.
During our tour we were informed of the wine history on Waiheke and at each vineyard visited, a tasting together with a brief history on their vineyard.
Our tour concluded with a visit to Mudbrick vineyard, where we had lovely dinner with a view of the Hauraki Gulf and were entertained by a lovely sunset.
