Investigation of options for upgraded site telecommunications
A wide-ranging options review for the upgrade of comms to a power station was undertaken. Options considered included microwave radio, fibre optic cable, satellite service and leasing services from Telcos. Multiple alternative radio paths, repeater sites and fibre cable routes were considered. Detailed costings for each option were developed, and rated against benefits and performance expectations, allowing a sound decision for upgrade path.
